Back To Reality...

Well, I fully intended on updating this blog when we returned from Colorado; but it just didn't happen... What can I say? Life is crazy that way! The boys are back in school (YEA!) and I am back at work today (Randy says "Yea!"). I am the Yearbook Chairperson for George Elementary, and half of the pages had to be submitted by the 14th, so needless to say, that is what my primary focus was last week!

I also had to help Andrew finish up his National History Day project (with the help of his project partner Parker and his mother Rose!). We spent all day Saturday putting their display board together! They turned it in this morning. Andrew also found out last week that he won first place in the Marion Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest! He will be awarded a medal, certificate, and $25 on February 9th! He was totally pumped about that $25!

Our vacation in Colorado was fantastic! We had great weather! It snowed only one day while we were there, and we got out just before a huge storm moved in! They got 21 inches in the five days after we left! We were happy to get home after a LONG 14 hours in the car! My bed had never felt so good! And there was one extremely happy dog waiting for us!
Report Cards came home this week! Yea! All three boys made EXCELLENT grades! Randy and I are very proud! Especially of Matthew- he improved his reading skills by 3.5 grade levels! He is now reading at a 6th grade level. This was an enormous accomplishment- he has really worked hard and has taken on a new sense of responsibility this year. I think he is finally over that "hump"! A huge 'thanks' to his teachers- Mrs. Wood & Mrs. Wolff! Sam made all A's and one B for the semester. He has read more books than anyone else in his class! It's amazing what a pair of glasses has done for him! Andrew continues to excel- all A's as usual... pretty boring...
He also has a new girlfriend- Maggie. She is a cheerleader and a majorette, and is in two of his classes. I like her- she is very friendly, and easy to talk to! And really cute, too! :)
Well, Randy would probably appreciate it if I do some actual insurance work here today, and it is almost lunch time! I guess I'll go for now! Have a great day!
Cynthia :)
