June 17-19: New York City!
Back in the spring, Andrew concocted a plan to go to a NY Yankees game this year before they tear down 'the house that Ruth built'. He discussed it with me, and I decided that it would be neat for him and Randy to go to NYC this summer. It was tough for me to stay home, but someone had to run the office and watch the other boys! So we planned a whirl-wind trip for the two of them. I decided it would be a great 40th birthday present for Randy- just a month early! Andrew saved all his birthday money and the money he made working at the baseball fields this spring and was able to contribute $600 toward the trip! I found some great airline rates (believe it or not!!) out of Tulsa, so they left at 7am on Tuesday! They raced around the city and saw as much as possible- Times Square, Empire State Bldg, Ground Zero, Central Park, Wall Street... and the Yankees game on Wednesday night. Their plane left at 6:30am on Thursday to come home. It was quick, but they enjoyed it.
