Holiday Weekend in St. Louis!

We took the boys to St. Louis for a long-weekend to celebrate the 4th! It was a great trip! We went to the Cardinals/Mets game on July 3rd. It was our first time to visit the new Busch Stadium. Unfortunately, the Cards lost. On the 4th, we spent the afternoon downtown- we went to Laclede's Landing and saw where the Mississippi River was out of it's banks, the old courthouse, and scouted out the 'perfect spot' to watch the fireworks at the Arch! We ate dinner at Charlie Gitto's- some of the best Italian food ever! The fireworks were incredible- the biggest that Matthew and Sam had ever seen. It took us forever to get back to our hotel- there must have been a million people down there (plus the Cards had played the Cubs that night!). We were SO tired, but it was worth it! We also did some shopping, saw the movie "Hancock" and went to the St. Louis Science Center. It was a busy, but fun weekend!

Lunch at Pujol's 5- holding one of Albert Pujol's ESPY Awards

At Busch Staduim after the game...

At Union Station- Matthew & Sam loved this! You can't see in this picture, but there are trampolines under them!

Getting off the MetroLink at Laclede's Landing- First good view of the Arch

The swollen Mississippi River- the bottom floor of this parking garage is under water, not to mention the street behind it.

'The Perfect Spot'- we staked out this piece of lawn about 6pm and waited for the show

Celebrating our Independence! A spectacular show!

St. Louis Science Center- building the arch... it was a great weekend!
