Turning 40...

Well, it has finally happened...on Monday, February 2nd... I had the infamous birthday- "40"!

I have to say, tho... it really isn't all that bad! I had one of the best days ever, to be honest! My family was very nice to me... Randy surprised me with a present before he left to take Matthew and Sam to school... an Amethyst charm for my Pandora bracelet! And each of the boys had gotten me a charm with their initial on it! I will think of each of them everytime I wear my bracelet! I love you all very much!
Then, just a bit after 7am, by best friend- Tonya Collyar- showed up! She brought me a 'goodie' bag of fun little treats. She also decorated my car before she left... fun, fun! My girlfriends also surprised me by putting an announcement in the newspaper! They were very thoughtful and used a very good picture of all us- not some ridiculous childhood photo! Thank you, girls!

A few of the girls- Michele, Kim and Tonya- took me to lunch at the 'Mellow Mushroom'. They brought petite' fours- one of my all-time favorite sweet treats! We had a great lunch!

Monday night, Andrew had a basketball game, so we didn't do anything 'real' fancy! We did go eat at Mama Fu's after the game (we played in Bentonville, and this is one of my favorite places up there!). Randy took me out to dinner the following Saturday night. We went to 'Savor' - a relatively new restaurant in Fayetteville. It was very nice. The atmosphere is very upscale, great service and wonderful food! We wanted to go see "Taken" after dinner, but it was sold out along with almost every other movie! My mom was here, so we decided to just go home and spend some more time with her and the boys. I had bought "Fireproof" (we never saw it at the movies) and we watched that. It is a great movie!!! The boys even really liked it!

My girlfriends had planned a "Girls Night Out' to celebrate my birthday on Thursday, Feb. 12th. Everyone has such crazy schedules (mine being the worst!), this was the first night that worked for everyone! I was very surprised, however, when a gift bag showed up on my doorstep that morning! They had a whole evening planned for me and for my good friend, Kim McCurdy, who also turns 40 in March! They had put really cute PJ's in the bag that said "It's a Sin to look this good at 40"- very cute! We started the evening at Missie's home- she had wine, cheese and crackers, and grapes all prepared for us to kick off the evening! Then we went to dinner at 'Soul' and had an incredible dinner. The food was delicious! After dinner, we all went to Tina's house to spend the night!!! We stayed up until about midnight just visiting and eating cake! The next morning, Tina fixed breakfast for us and then we went shopping! Oh- they got me a Visa Gift Card with $100 on it!!!! So I had money to shop with! I spent every bit of it, too! :) We ate lunch at Jason's Deli before calling it a day and getting back to 'reality'! I still can't believe what they did! I was completely shocked... it was probably one of the best birthday's I've ever had! I am very blessed to have such a wonderful group of friends- I love each one of them dearly!
