The month of May was busy, indeed...

Now... for what happened in May... OMGosh! It was a busy, busy month (probably why I didn't blog any!)... I guess I'll just start at the beginning of the month and work my way through it... This may be done in more than one post!

Saturday, May 3rd: 5th Grade Olympics!

Every year, all the elementary schools in Springdale participate in the Kiwanis 5th Grade Olympics. Matthew was excited to get to do this. He ran in the 4x40 relay, the 100m dash, and the Obstacle Course Relay. He did very well- he didn't place, but he did have a great time.

Saturday, May 10th: AAU Track & Field Meet- Sam competes!

Sam was invited to run with the NWA Mustangs T&F Club. He was very excited to have a 'sport' to compete in (since his brothers were playing baseball and he didn't want to play baseball). He ran the 200m, 400m and 800m races. AAU does their meets/races by age, so Sam only had to compete with other kids born in 1998. He placed 1st in the 800m, 4th in the 400m and 2nd in the 200m! Yea!! Sam also went to Little Rock on May 17th and competed in the Shot Put, 200m and 400m races. He placed 1st in the Shot Put! This was the first year for our team, so we look forward to participating in more events next year. I think that Matthew will participate next year also since he won't be playing baseball.

Sunday, May 11th: I love being a Mom!

I so love being a mother... nothing else has come even close to being as rewarding, challenging, fun, stressful, or important as my job as a mother! My boys mean the world to me... Before church, they surprised me with a Pandora bracelet! I have wanted one for a long time. It is like a charm bracelet- they got me the Arkansas/Hog charm and the spacers. It will be fun to have them pick out additional charms for it in the future! They would also make great gifts for Christmas or my birthday next year.. hint, hint...! :)
